The Milford Town Derby was a great time.  Five people from Pack 4 attended: Zachary D., Joey L., Benjamin O., Teddy G., and Brandon D..  Everyone had fun.  Scouts had made great cars out of a block of pinewood!  When they announced who was racing they said the name of your car and your first and last names.  Pack 4 came in third.  Teddy G. had the fastest time for Pack 4 for an average time of 2.2745.  Joey L. came in second for our pack with an average time of 2.2843.  Brandon D. came in third with an average time of 2.3018.  Zachary D.

The Tri River District Pinewood Derby Championship will be held on Sunday, March 25th at the Special Olympics of Massachusetts Yawkee Sports Training Center, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.  Doors open at 12:30 PM.  Tiger Cub and Cub Scout Registration runs from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.  The race will begin at 1:45PM.

Pack 4's top four Pinewood Derby racers and the fastest Tiger Cub will represent Pack 4 at this event.  Congratulations to this year's District participants: Joseph T. (DEN 3- WEBELOS); Paul R. (DEN 10-WOLVES); Jake R.

Due to an unanticipated scheduling error at the Parish Center, we have agreed to move our Blue and Gold Banquet to Sunday, March 18, 2012.  The banquet will be from 11:00 AM to 4:15 PM.

Parents,

The Pack has started its annual charter renewal process.  This is the time of the year when we update the Pack’s registration with the Boy Scouts of America and collect the annual Pack registration fee. 

The two-step process is straightforward: 

First, please send me an e-mail and let me know if your son will register for the coming scout year (March 2012 to February 2013).  I will use this information to update the Charter package I submit to Knox Trail Council in February on behalf of the Pack.

The Pack 4 Pinewood Derby Workshop is this Saturday, January 14, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hoppe Room.   There is no set time to arrive or depart – we’ll have adult leaders there the whole time.  While the workshop is optional it is a good way to get a head start on your car as we will provide a band saw (and operator) to make the rough cuts according to your design.

Uniforms are not required.
